New Airport Office

During my time at Benthem Crouwel Architekten, I was involved in the competion for Flughafen Stuttgart GmbH to design a new Office building for Ernst & Young. The design has a varied program of requirements with different functions: offices, auditorium, library, restaurant, conference and education. The building is a distinctive multi layered cubic volume, interrupted by gaps at the building corners, where each function has its one place. A large central atrium with walkways and escalators brings daylight deep into the building and connects the features visually and physically. Another large opening on the 6th floor, a transparent intermediate section between the atrium and landscape, creates a meeting place with a fantastic view towards Swäbische Alb, a landscape heritage in southwest Germany.
