Gemstone museum

The museum shows an exhibition of almost all worked gemstones worldwide. With it`s 10 000 objects its one of the most significant gemstone museums of the world. In 1996 the museum moved into Villa “Purpers Schlößchen“. In the current state of the bulding the layout of the museum is unclear and fails in its concept and presentation. By restructuring the functional sequences and at the same time making the building more spatial, the new design gives the museum the grandeur it deserves. Especially the larger selling space and the new way of exhibiting of the stones contributes to that improvement. Additionally a new lecture room in the attic provides for a stronger presence of the museum to the public..
